SIA "Back To School" Week
Dear Parent,
On behalf of the administration, management,
teachers and staff here at Scholars International
Academy, I cordially welcome all new and returning
parents to the 2009/10 school year. We are all very
excited to have you and your child as a part of our
school and look forward to another academically
stimulating and developmentally productive year.
As you are all well aware, since last January, SIA
has implemented a number of new programmes and
initiatives that have directly resulted in
significant overall improvement in your child's
learning environment. Maintaining this trend of
improvement and in keeping with our
Profile Points Programme,
we are kick starting this year with a special
initiative called “Back to School” week.
During this week, children will have an opportunity
to meet with their new class teacher on a one on one
basis and have their unique learning needs assessed.
This will allow teachers to augment each child's
learning profile and design a programme that focuses
on his or her individual learning style and
educational requirements; thus, creating a strong
foundation for the year ahead. Imagine the
development that will take place by the introduction
of more individualized instruction. Additionally,
this will also allow parents the opportunity to
review the progress their child is making based on
the Profile Points
Programme throughout the year.
To ensure an uninterrupted opportunity for quality
interaction between students and their teachers, we
have assigned a dedicated time slot for each child
during “Back to School” Week. Each child is
scheduled to come in and meet with his or her
respective year teacher during this week.
Normal classes will resume
on the 6th of September.
At Scholars International Academy, we realize that
your time is very precious. Therefore, as a special
convenience to parents, “Back to School” week
will also serve as a one- stop-shop to pick up books
and uniforms, complete any pending admission
paperwork, submit any remaining documents, confirm
bus routes, pay transportation dues, and submit fees
while you wait for your child to complete his or her
assessment. As a courtesy reminder, our friendly
office staff will e-mail you the details of any
pending admission requirements (if applicable) via
e-mail by the last week of August.
The administration, management, teachers and staff,
here at Scholars International Academy look forward
to meeting you personally during “Back to School”
week. Please confirm your appointment with us by
Sunday, 16th August 2009
so that we can ensure that your time slot is
reserved. It is imperative to your child’s
development at Scholars that he or she meets with
the class teacher for a learning needs assessment
before formal classes start. As always, we genuinely
appreciate your cooperation.
